Well, only time will tell now! I have submitted my application to be a part of a mission trip to Zambia, Africa this June. I would travel with my friend Carrie and we would be gone for the month of June. We would possibly be teaching and tutoring in simple English, (could be up to 29 different languages there right now!) This experience is in a very high poverty area, and would truly be amazing to be a part of. There would be some scary things of course, beign so far away from home, but I truly feel that this opportunity was presented to us for a reason!!
Can't wait to hear what happens!!

The Start of it All!
It has begun....Student teaching, the roller coaster I'll be on for the next 13-14 weeks! And let me tell you, they weren't kidding when they said we'd experience the whole ride of emotions in one day!
Friday started out so well with my observations in a 'flipped' chemistry room, meaning the students are practicing a mastery learning type of well, learning! Then I taught my activity in anatomy and was still doing well, only getting slightly flustered with students doing quizzes, then it fell rapidly with students not passing quizzes and not getting the info, but it all went back up once students came in after school and were excited about completing 'Banatomy'!
All-in-all a good day! Just busy busy now completing lessons and packets for next week!

End of the Semester!
The end is in sight!! This week is the final week of the semester and I've got one final down, and one to go!
I met my cooperating teacher for the fall out at Dakota Valley High School. I will have two sections of anatomy, and two (possibly three) sections of biology! I am so excited for this, and very greatful for such a nice and knowledgeable cooperating teacher!
This summer will no doubt be another adventure as I continue working for Briar Cliff as a hall director, and also working at Menards in the Hardware dept. We are also returning to Morton, MS in June for a week with the wonderful students there. They always come in every morning with smiles on their faces, ready and actually excited to learn from us. It's truly a blessing to have students like that!
So for now, I am busy with check-outs, studying for my last final, and planning my lessons for our week in Mississippi!
Please enjoy this picture of a sunrise on the farm (The Duane and Lauri Hummelgard farm <3 )

Great news!
God loves to look at us, and loves it when we will look back at Him. Even when we try to run away from our troubles...God will find us, bless us, even when we feel most alone, unsure...God will find a way to let us know that He is with us in this place, wherever we are.

To be glad of life, because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars;...to think seldom of your enemies, often of your friends, and every day of Christ; and to spend as much time as you can, with body and spirit in God's out-of-doors--these are little guideposts on the footpath to peace. --Henry VanDyke

Some exciting things coming up for me this next year!
-Within this last week, I have signed up to do a 3k "Color Run" In Minneapolis on J-man's bday (July 15th) We are on a team called the Smokin' Hot Chile Peppers! Should be a lot of fun. Mom, Jilly, Katie and I think Justin are all doing the run.
-Then, Sheryl and Whitt will be married on August 4th in Ida Grove, and that is going to be tons of fun (didn't have to sign up for that one, but couldn't leave that event out either :) )
-I will be student teaching starting later in August, at a school to be determined by April or May.
-Then after I am done with that, January 7-15, 2013, I will be traveling to......COSTA RICA!!!!!! I am very excited for another adventure! The Galapagos trip this past January was awesome, and I will post some of my journal entries once I get it back from my professors :)
Can't wait for Spring Break next week so I can travel to Spencer to see Sarah Smith, and also to travel to KC to see Katybeth Whited!! Gonna be a good week!!
